Information about the narrator in chapter 1

This is the information that we get in chapter 1 about the narrator:

• He is an old man.
•  He is around 70 years old. At some point he says: “ On a summer day nearly 60 years ago(…)”, so if he was a boy when the events took place, he must be in his 70s.
• He has 2 children  and 2 grandchildren.

• He is trying to remember something about his past related to an unsolved mystery, but strong feelings seem to be blocking his mind.
• He is a professional translator.
• He is not living in the same place where he spent his childhood.
